Picture this: you feel like heading to the local ice rink to skate with some friends…but wait. There isn’t an ice rink in the neighborhood…yet! Imagine how cool it would be to have an outdoor ice rink for the community to call it’s own. The Lake Shaw Ice Rink has plans to open at the site of the Old City Farm and Guild, on the 900 block of Rhode Island Ave NW.
The rink aims to be a hub for the community and bring aspects of the local culture, history, and even food and drinks from neighborhood restaurants to the ice.
The Lake Shaw Ice Rink is currently being crowd funded and the project needs your help! There are a few incentives that go along with the donations that include:
$10 = 1 free skate
$25 = 3 free skates
$100 = unlimited free skate for a month (per person, non-transferable)
$250 = 1 season pass
$500 = 2 season pass, 2 tickets to opening and closing events
$1000 = 2 hour private event for up to 100 people Sunday thru Thursday subject to availability, 4 tickets to opening and closing events.
So this holiday give a little something back to your community! The ice rink needs your help and think of all the great times that will come out of having one in the community.
